For the class: I created a Sample Page with some directions on the left.
Our name is derived from the fact that we are the inaugural class of the EdMedia Program at Dominican College. In this WIKI, you will see the products of our efforts to develop lessons and activities that integrate technology into the K-12 classroom. There WILL be a photo here! LOL
To the Class:
Each of you has been assigned an area where you will monitor the work that gets uploaded to that area. Sometimes the area may have to expand to include more pages to accommodate the items that are posted. For now, I (Dr. Clemente) will monitor your area/pages and put comments in the Discussion Tab that accompanies your area/pages. Each page has its own Discussion tab. This is how I will guide you through the process... and this is a work in progress, so please, do not feel that what you post is permanent. That is the beauty of a collaborative space. Be sure to look at the Discussion that accompanies your page where not only I will post comments and provide help when you need it, but if each of you has a question for the content monitor of the page, you can also post it on that page's discussion board.
Just as we came to consensus on our NBC template, which was challenging but great work, we will come to consensus on this WIKI which will be the central repository of EdMedia students' works, for you and for others to share. I am leaving the generic text that was on this page at the very bottom of this page for a while until you get used to using the WIKI.
Content is King:
Simple is better than fancy. Do not upload a million pictures and change the font a million times. While these are fun, it will distract from our mission to provide a service.
